Fall 2019 One Room Challenge - Week 4: redesigned finds
/It’s already Week 4 of the Better Homes & Gardens One Room Challenge and while my brother and contractor Paul has transitioned to working on our cottage bunkie interior, I’ve been doing some serious shopping and redesigning some pretty great finds.
Redesigned Finds
Reducing, reusing and recycling - Redesign - is at the foundation of everything I do. I always try and incorporate vintage and antique elements and transform them to achieve a look that has been curated over time. This project is no exception and I’ll be bringing in several redesigned finds for the space including:
4 antique quilts from the Christie Antique & Vintage Show
2 vintage bark cloth curtain panels (turned pillows) from Kijiji
3 painted paddles and oar from Antiques on 11 North
2 antique fishing baskets from Antiques on 11 North
a yellow chenille blanket (turned lumbar pillows) from Value Village
2 antique step stools from Antiques on 11 North
2 vintage sides tables (now painted) from Kijiji
an original Rod Prouse painting from Antiques on 11 North
a vintage Italian tole chandelier from Cookstown Antique Market
a vintage embroidered tablecloth (turned pillows) from Antiques on 11 North
and the 4 vintage pillowcases that inspired the entire interior design for our bunkie from our Orillia Salvation Army
This upcoming week is going to be a big one! In addition to painting the bunkie interior I need to assemble bunk beds, paint side tables, sew pillows and layer everything in to be ready for the photo shoot and finish in time for the final reveal in early November.
